EVANS CARLSON
(1896-1947) Marine Corps general who commanded ‘Carlson's Raiders' during World War II, remembered for the Makin Island raid and leading his raiders behind Japanese lines at Guadalcanal. Carlson popularized the popular phrase ‘gung-ho', which is still widely used today! Very rare signature adding his classic ‘Gung-Ho' slogan, accomplished on a small pink album sheet, and in fine condition. Offered with an original Underwood & Underwood press photograph, showing Carlson being presented the Navy Cross by Admiral Chester Nimitz, Nov. 16, 1942.

Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
