EVA BRAUN'S POWDER COMPACT 91-78
A sterling silver powder compact once owned by Hitler's mistress, Eva Braun, 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" and bearing her engraved "E B" "butterfly" monogram which had been designed for her by Alber Speer. The compact bears a small floral design, and opens to reveal a powder tray (still containing fragrant pink powder) and a small mirror. Fine condition. "Liberated" from Braun's Munich apartment by en enterprising G.I. Originally sold by noted militaria auctioneers Mohawk Arms, fifty-year experts in the field, their 1991 catalog item A-99. This item was purchased to become part of the famous Lattimer Collection, our consignor. Still in Mohawk's original packing with auction labels.
