Description:

EVA BRAUN'S MOTHER'S TOILETRY CASE
A fine French set of toiletry items in a case that belonged to Eva Barun's mother, Franziska Braun. The ca. 1940 items include a leather tag bearing Mrs. Braun's printed calling card within, four powder and perfume jars, a clothing brush, hair brush, mirror, various soaps and creams (some leaking!), and a stand-up travel mirror (broken), all of which at the time were costly as the brushes and hand mirror are hallmarked "800" silver. The case cover is badly torn, sold as-is. From the Evan Lattimer collection. This was an extravagant item at the time, and Braun's family was by no means well-heeled. It's entirely possible that Eva purchased this item for her mother, but of course this is only speculation.
