Description:

(EVA BRAUN) FRITZ BRAUN
(1879 - 1964) Father of Eva Braun, mistress of Adolf Hitler. When Hitler came to power, Braun saw the advantages of friendship with the Nazis and became a regular visitor to the Berghof. He also became an officer in the German army. Rare A.D.S. 'F. Braun' on the verso of a 5 x 3.5 in. postcard picturing the birth home of his wife and Eva Braun's mother, Franziska 'Fanny' Kronberger (1885–1976) in Ruhpoling, Bavaria, [n.p.], Feb. 6, 1951. Largely untranslated but Braun appears to be referencing the photograph, stating that he believes it had been taken in 1945. Text a tad light at the top, else very good. Braun was close to his one-time son-in-law, Adolf Hitler, who presented Braun with the gold mechanical pencil offered in the previous lot.
