Description:

EUROPEAN DOCUMENTS
An interesting pair of medieval documents, the first a partly-printed D.S. in German, 1p. oblong folio, Franckenstein, July 1, 1781, not translated but appears to concern a European Guild. Prominent central fold, toning and wear to margins, overall good. Along with a tall 4to. leaf from the illustrated history The Nuremberg Chronicle in Latin by Hartmann Shedel, Augsburg 1497, bearing fine tinted engravings of religious figures. The Nuremberg Chronicle is notable as one of the first printed, as opposed to manuscript, books. Very good.
