Description:

(1903 - 1946) Chief of the RSHA who replaced Heydrich, he was a rabid anti-Semite who greatly increased efforts to round-up Jews, and also urged the murder of parachutists. Responsible for implementing the "Final Solution" and executed at Nuremberg. Fine content T.L.S. on his "Der Chef der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD" letterhead, 1p. 4to., Berlin, Aug. 24, 1943 to HANS DELLBRUGGE (1902-1982), German lawyer and SS-Brigadeführer, Regierungspräsident in Vienna, and head of the Reichskommissariat Norway under Josef Terboven. Kaltenbrunner discusses the changed status of a Viennese woman who had married a foreigner. In part: "...on Miss Gisela Schwarz...in the course of this year, I had the competent police authority in Vienna request that the application be granted...circumstances...give me the incentive to annul the negative decision. Otherwise, however, the point must be made that marriages of German women with foreigners and subsequent emigration from the Reich are fundamentally undesirable, since these women and their offspring are generally lost to German nationality..." Docketed, with file holes in left margin, else fine.
