ERNST BUSCH
(1885 - 1945) German field marshal, served under List during the invasion of Poland and the following year led the German 16th Army during the Western Offensive. Defeated in Russia, he was sacked by Hitler, recalled to defend Montgomery's advance, and died in a POW camp after capture. War-date typed D.S., 1p. 8vo., "Headquarters", Mar. 23, 1944, an award of the German Cross in Silver to Dr. Herbert Nieden. Boldly signed in indelible pencil, files holes at left affect nothing, else fine.
