(1887-1973) German field marshal who devised the plan to conquer France, held various commands on the Russian front, sacked by Hitler for a retreat. War-date T.L.S. as field marshal, 1p. 4to., "H. Qu.", May 7, 1943 to Albert Müller in Berlin concerning his awarding Müller's Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves. Usual folds, else near fine condition. Offered with a S.P. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" b/w, a bust photo of von Manstein in uniform. Fine. Together, two pieces.
