Description:

EMILIO AGUINALDO REGIMENTAL FLAG
Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy (1869 -1964) First Filipino President of the Philippines. General, politician, and independence leader who helped lead the Philippine Revolution against Spain and the Philippine-American War that resisted American occupation. Rare relic, a regimental battle flag reportedly captured from Aguinaldo's insurgent army by American troops during the Philippine-American War. The flag, measuring 41' x 21', is designed similarly to the swallow-tail design, with an inverted white triangle for a canton at the hoist end, and a red and white bisected field. The flag bears some resemblance to the Manila Provincial Ensign Flag, in use from 1886-1898. According to the consignor, the item was originally part of the Col. Wood collection.
