(1840 - 1902) French novelist and founder of Naturalism in literature, author of Germinal and fervent supporter of Alfred Dreyfus. Fine association A.L.S. "Emile Zola" on the face of his personal calling card 3" x 2", Paris, [n.d.], to "My dear Calmeth[?]", in French. In part: "…You are very kind to make a good home to my old friend Paul Alexis, who is well in need of a shoulder. Thank you…". Fine, matted with an excellent Nadar cabinet card photograph of Zola looking slightly to his left. Ready for framing. PAUL ALEXIS (1847-1901) was a French novelist, dramatist, and journalist. He is best remembered today as the friend and biographer of Émile Zola.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
