Description:

(ELVIS PRESLEY)
(1935 - 1977) American singer, "The King of Rock and Roll" whose gyrations on stage wowed the crowd. His most popular hits include "Hound Dog", "Love Me Tender", and " Don't Be Cruel". A quirky Elvis-related item, the original ledger book from the Memphis Funeral Home, with entries from May-November 1977 listing all the funerals performed including that of Elvis, who died on Aug. 16, 1977. Elvis was taken to the Memphis Funeral Home on Aug. 17 for the public viewing and funeral, where over 75,000 mourners lined up to pay their respects. In contrast to this massive outpouring, Elvis' official funeral was a modest ceremony held on Aug. 18 in Graceland. The ledger is approx. 8" x 11" leatherbound, with each entry neatly penned, and Elvis' name printed at the top of a page in the section titled "August 1977". Very good condition.
