Description:

Elvis Presley's Hair in a Locket, 1956
Inside this heart-shaped locket adorned with a king's crown is a locket of hair from the head of the King of Rock 'n' Roll! The hair was saved by barber Salvatore Cristino, owner of Salvatore's Barber Shop, who was summoned to the dressing room of the Cleveland Arena prior to Presley's concert on November 23, 1956. After the haircut, Elvis signed a dedication to the barber "Sal, Thanks for a great haircut...yours truly Elvis Presley." A color copy of that dedication is included. Inside the locket are approximately 25 strands of the King's hair. While authentic Elvis hair from the 1970's has circulated in the marketplace over the years, this particular locket, with ironclad provenance, can be traced to a specific time and place. Photos of the freshly shorn Elvis from that very day can be viewed at elvispresleymusic.com.au. The 1.25" x 1.5" gold locket is attached to a 24" chain. LOA from the daughter of Salvatore Cristino.
