Description:

ELVIS PRESLEY''S 12-GAUGE SHOTGUN
A most unique and representative piece of music history, a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun once owned and used by rock and roll legend (and avid gun collector) ELVIS PRESLEY (1935-1977). The shotgun has a 26 1/2" barrel, 47 1/2" overall, and was manufactured by Winchester and retailed by Sears Roebuck under the "Ted Williams" brand name as the Model 200. The left-hand side of the barrel is roll-marked with the brand name, chambering information and serial number "273.2160 VC". A choke tube is fitted to the muzzle, and a push-button safety is located just forward of the trigger guard, with a slide-release lever immediately behind the trigger on the left-hand side. The metalwork shows a blued finish overall, with the exception of the trigger, loading gate and ejection port. Elvis acquired it at the Southland Mall in Memphis in 1967, and used it primarily for trap shooting at his Circle G ranch in Horn Lake, Mississippi. Present with the firearm is a photocopy of a letter of provenance from Elvis''s cousin, Billy Smith, setting forth the above information, as well as an additional signed and notarized letter of provenance from Mike L. Moon, owner of the now-defunct Elvis & Hollywood Legends Museum at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, dated March 26, 2013, stating that it was transferred into his ownership by Billy Smith on Aug. 17, 198, and had been on display at the museum until its deaccession. The shotgun shows minor wear to the loading gate and ejection port, with a slight amount of wear to the finish on the right-hand side behind the slide, else very good. Transfer to purchaser will be made only through a licensed FFL holder.
