ELIZABETH CUSTER(1842 - 1933) American author, wife of George Armstrong Custer (1839-1876) Union brigadier general killed at the Battle of Little Big Horn. Fine pair of signed books from Custer's library, History of Monroe County, Volumes I and II, by John M. Bulkley, Lewis Publishing Co.: Chicago, 1913. Each volume has been signed "E. B. Custer" on the front flyleaf. An old ink obliteration on title page, spines a bit worn, else very good. George Custer spent most of his childhood in Monroe, Michigan, and met his wife Elizabeth there, where she had been born.
