Description:

ELIAS BOUDINOT (1740 - 1821) Revolutionary War officer and President of the Continental Congress signing the Treaty of Paris in that capacity. Later director of the U.S. Mint. Manuscript D.S. "Elias Boudinot" 2pp. 4to., [n.p.], June 13, 1792, in which John Kean is appointed as Cashier of the Bank of the Unites States. Signed by Boudinot as well as WILLIAM BRADFORD. The front reads: "...I, Elias Boudinot...do constitute & appoint John Kean Esq. Cashier of the Bank of the United States my true & lawful attorney for me & in my Name to receive all such Interest money, as may be due to me on the first day of July next...". On verso, Bradford signs as witness. With an early engraving of Bradford. Light wear to edges, otherwise boldly signed and in very good condition. A nice pairing of signatures.
