'EINSATZGRUPPEN' SECRET REPORT ON JEWS
Ca. 1960 photocopy of a secret war date report published by the Chief of the Secret German Police or 'Einsatzgruppen' regarding Jews and political prisoners as well as the establishment of ghettos during Operation Barbarossa, 15pp 8vo., originally published in Berlin, July 9th, 1941. Notable excerpts in part: '...For preventative reasons, 5 former communist functionaries were arrested by the Munich police center...the number...has increased to 341...At present, Minsk is still a war zone...In all cities of Belarus mentioned liquidation was carried out to functionaries of the state and party apparatus. The Jews were treated in the same way according to the orders. The number of ticks for the liquidation has not yet been determined...the population is immensely impressed by the invasion of the troops...The mood of the population is good and friendly towards Germans...The Lithuanian branches...have been commissioned to continuously compile lists of the names of Jews in Vilnius, first of all the intelligentsia, political activists, and wealthy Jews. As a result searches and arrests are carried out continuously...93 Jews liquidated, the tangible Jewish property was secured...The establishment of a Jewish quarter is being prepared. At the suggestion of the EK, the mainly Jewish quarter is declared a restricted area for members of the Wehrmacht...' Most pages trimmed around the margins, creased and slightly toned.
