EIGHTEENTH CENTURY SLAVE BILL OF SALE
Partly-printed slave bill of sale, 1p. legal folio, Savannah, Georgia, Jan. 25, 1789, for the purchase of "Will", a mulatto man, "Davie & Sylvia...Abigal Black...& Child mulattoes...". The purchaser, Joseph Anthony, has paid "two hundred & fifteen Pounds Sterling" to MCulloch Newall & Co. Eitheenth century slave documents are quite scarce, the partly printed type are particularly desirable. This document had uneven toning and soiling, a few pinholes and some separation at folds. Ink remains dark and very legible, overall condition is good.

Shipping

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arrange through the auction house.
