(1890 - 1973) American aviator and World War I ace credited with 26 kills, later president of Eastern Air Lines. T.L.S. ‘Eddie' on his personal letterhead, 2pp. 4to., New York, 1963, sending a Christmas letter to a friend. In part: '...As we grow older the years seem to take on an accelerated pace for the longer we live the shorter they get...what have we accomplished to perpetuate the land of the free and the home of the brave...hope that the New Year will bring us the image of a man or men to choose as our new leader...My creed of such an image I title 'A Man'... A MAN - who has convictions with courage and character to put them into action...A MAN - who will respect States' Rights...A MAN - who believes in free enterprise and our form of government...Let us therefore dedicate our lives to the perpetuation of the American principles of Freedom with confidence....Let us acknowledge and be grateful for the blessings of freedom which God has given us...' Both pages have a crease at the top left corner, else fine.

Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
