Lot 468
(Personal Preference Kit) which was aboard the flight of Gemini 4 and was carried in a pocket on the leg of White's spacesuit during his historic EVA spacewalk on June 3, 1965. The bag measures approx. 6" x 7" x 2" and is made of white parachute cloth which has been rubberized on the interior and bears a grayish white drawstring at top. Across the bag is written "ED WHITE 78 SILVER", most likely in White's hand and indicating that it contained 78 of the 100 silver medallions he carried on the flight. Obtained from the Ed White II Estate collection. Some slight staining, principally at bottom and on verso, otherwise very good. Includes a clear lucite display box with engraved aluminum descriptive plaque.
