EDUARD DIETL(1890 - 1944) Nazi German general who participated in the Anschluss and attack on Poland, he is most remembered as the "Hero of Narvik" for which he received the first Oak Leaves of the war. Killed in an airplane crash with his corps commanders. S.P. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" b/w, a Hoffmann photo showing Dietl in uniform from the chest, up, nicely signed at bottom. With 1943 transmittal envelope from an aide, very good to fine .
