Description:

(1897 – 1934) Nazi Party leader and Ernst Röhm's deputy in the SA. Sturmabteilung or SA. Murdered in the purge that would come to be known as the "Night of the Long Knives". Excessively rare signed postcard photo showing members of the Wehrjugend federation "Schill" in Munich. On the verso, Heines writes in pencil: "In memory of our stay in Heidelberg 15 / 8.25 Heines" about the stamp of the organization. In the original double-sided glass frame. Fine. Following the war, Heines went to Munich and in 1922 assumed the leadership of the Freikorp Rossbach. In December 1922, the entire Ortsgruppe joined the SA; Heines took over the leadership of the Second Battalion in the Munich SA Regiment and also became Member 78 of the NSDAP. Because of his participation in Hitler's attempted "Beer Hall Putsch", Heines was sentenced in 1924 to 15 months imprisonment with his mentor, Hitler. He was released early and assumed the leadership of the Second Battalion of the Munich Frontbann regiment, a replacement organization of the SA. After the re-admission of the Nazi Party in 1925 Heine joined the party as well as the SA again. From 1925 to August 1926 Heines was federal director of the Wehrjugendverbandes Schill. The Schilljugend functioned as a youth organization of the NSDAP, possibly the first. In 1929, he was convicted of the murder of communist Conrad Pietrzuch, who had been beaten to death by an SA gang led by Heines. The trial had to be reopened due to a technical error, and Heines soon received an amnesty because of his supposedly "patriotic" motive. That same year, he was appointed to temporarily serve as the head of a Nazi district in the Upper Palatinate region. In 1930, Heines became a member of the Reichstag for the district of Liegnitz. From 1931 to 1934, he served as an SA leader in Silesia while simultaneously working as Ernst Röhm's deputy. In 1933, Heines was on the Prussian privy council, and in May of the same year he became head of police in Breslau. On the night of his death, Heines was caught in bed with an unidentified 18-year-old male when he was arrested. Hitler personally ordered the SS to remove the men and execute them.
