69. EARLY NEW HAMPSHIRE SHIPPING Manuscript D.S. 1p. legal folio, Hampton, N.H., Feb. 20, 1727/8, an indenture between James Hanyan and Edward Shaw "...one half of a Sloope Now Riding at Anker in Hampton River in Said Sloope is Called the May Flower...".  Hanyan sold Shaw the half share for the sum of £82 in "Currant mon[e]y of New England". Interestingly, the indenture also spells out that the share also included half of the rigging, "halfe parte of the Mast & Anker & Sayles...and one halfe parte of the Cable...". A good early New England piece. Mounted to a board, moderate soiling, small losses affecting a few words, else good condition.$300-400
