EARLY GETTYSBURG GUIDE'S BATTLEFIELD NOTEBOOK, MONUMENT LOCATOR AND AUTHORED SOUVENIR BOOK

LUTHER W. MINNICH. Author of one of the best-known tour guides for the Gettysburg battlefield battlefield historian and renowned guide. A rare group: a copy of his volume Gettysburg: What They Did There, 8th edition, 1905, with a map of the site tipped-in and much interesting information. In worn condition. Accompanied by Minnich's original holograph notebook containing the facts upon which he would base this famous guide! The notebook is 4" x 7", signed in ink on cover, and contains 58pp. of entries, a regimental monument locator lists of corps and their members, biographical details and so forth. A detailed, hand-inked map is also tipped within. Very neatly penned, with undoubtedly vital information and in very good condition. Also included is the tiny bound volume listing Union troops, measuring just 3 1/2" x 4 1/2", docketed in pencil on the cover "for battlefield". Three pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
