EARLY AVIATION: BALLOONISTS AND MORE (14)
LOUIS BEREAU was an early aircraft enthusiast whose passion is evident right down to the amazing illustrated letterhead he used! He had already made many balloon flights and had an impressive collection of objects related to this subject that so inspired inventors. In1900, Bereau was asked to present the collection at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Includes: A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo., Paris, Dec. 31, 1903, to pioneering balloonists Albert or Gaston Tissandier from December 31, 1903, describing his excitement at seeing the works of Tissandier being exhibited at the Aero Club and discussing the 1905 sports exhibition and other aviation pioneers (Blanchard, Giffard and Renard) at which their appearance would be honored. With: Tissandier's business card reading: ‘Messieurs Albert et Gaston Tissandier...Atelier Aerostatique...Paris' and three labels showing Tissandier aircraft. Together with: six postcards devoted to early aviation and two small snapshots of early aviators standing with their planes. Very good condition overall. 14 items.
