EARLY 'ADAPTED' SS TUNIC
An early 'adapted' SS tunic that continues to engage experts as to its origin. The collar is piped in double rows of white and black with collar tabs affixed to either side. One tab bears silver metal-embroidered SS runes, with a brass '1' also affixed to the tab. There is some evidence that a larger tab was once sewn in the same place. An SS-Unterscharfuhrer collar tab is affixed to the other side of the collar, and both tabs are machine sewn. A first pattern embroidered SS eagle is machine sewn to the left sleeve. No epaulets are present, though appropriate buttons and flaps are so fitted. button and The top pockets are decorative, comprised of the flaps alone, lower pockets are functional. All of the pockets are closed with shiny metal dome-type buttons, while the front of the tunic is closed with five bone or wood buttons which are attached with removeable springs. There are two hooks and catches at the neck. The numbers '43', '105', and '96' are stamped on the pocket within the tunic, otherwise it is unmarked (one stamp within is obliterated) and unlined. As for the the tunic itself, there is speculation that it could be an early Twenties or Thirties police tunic, a drill tunic, an RAD tunic, or even a converted SA tunic. In any event, In any event, no knowledgeable party seems to have indicated that this piece has at all been put together. One period machine-sewn repair to the placket otherwise in excellent condition.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
