(1890 - 1969) 34th President of the United States, Supreme Commander of Allied forces in Europe during World War II and largely responsible for the successful invasion on D-Day. T.L.S. on personal letterhead, 1p., 8vo., Washington, December 26, 1947, a letter to General Howard McCrum Snyder, who would serve as Eisenhower's personal physician in the White House. Eisenhower thanks Snyder for his Christmas gift, in part: "... Your Christmas present to me was the first thing delivered to me from the pile around the Christmas tree, Johnnie acting as Santy. I am more than grateful-- you know how welcome such a present always is to me...". Boldly signed, "Ike" in black ink. Fine.
