Description:

295. DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER AND BERNARD LAW MONTGOMERY Very rare, early S.P., 8 1/2" x 7" (sight) b/w, showing Montgomery and Eisenhower both in uniform from the waist, up, Monty pointing towards Ike's chest, Eisenhower smoking a cigarette and bearing a grim expression. Signed by Montgomery as "Montgomery of Alamein Field-Marshal", and by Eisenhower as "Dwight D. Eisenhower". A few negligible surface wrinkles, a tiny chip on Ike's breast pocket, else very good. Double-matted and framed. As an interesting note, Montgomery hated cigarette smoke-perhaps he was telling Ike off? Photos signed by both Allied leaders are rarely encountered!
