Description:

DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER PRESIDENTIAL DOODLE
A pencil doodle from the desk of Dwight D. Eisenhower, 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", depicts a globe-like geometric image suspended atop a table with the initials "KAS" at upper-right. Fine. Such pencil doodles from Ike are well known. They were secretly obtained by Eisenhower's Asst. Secretary of Agriculture Howard B. McCray following cabinet meetings - McCray noticed Eisenhower doodling on scrap pieces of paper and then slipping them under his blotter. Following the meetings, McCray would collect the "artwork". Once the "thefts" were discovered, Ike would take the doodles with him, presumably to have them destroyed.
