An unusual large partly-printed multicolor document, 16" x 13", vellum, United States Court Document, New York City, May 6, 186, Duffie's official citizenship document. Handsomely printed in red, blue and gold, the document proudly declares: "...BE IT REMEMBERED, THAT on...Alfred N. Duffie appeared in the COURT OF COMMON PLEAS FOR THE CITY...OF NEW YORK...to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITES STATES OF AMERICA pursuant to the directions of the several ACTS of CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES...IT IS ORDERED...that the said applicant be admitted to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...".
