Description:

DOUGLAS CORRIGAN
(1907-1995) "Wrong-Way Corrigan", American aviator of the Thirties who set out in his plane promising to fly west and ended up making a trans-Atlantic crossing. His minor miscalculation brought him national fame. His volume That's My Story (New York: E. P. Dutton, 1938), first edition, boldly inscribed on the first free endpaper: "To Dick Conlon Douglas Corrigan 2-23-39 Oakland 'West to Ireland'". Lacking dustjacket, light offsetting to signature page, overall good. Along with EDWARD V. RICKENBACKER, his volume Seven Came Through (Garden City: Doubleday, 1943), inscribed and signed on first free endpaper: "with my best regards to 'Marshall E. Ball' Captain Eddie Rickenbacker 1960". With lightly worn dustjacket, very good. Two pieces.
