Description:

DOUGLAS CORRIGAN
(1907-95) "Wrong-Way Corrigan", American aviator of the Thirties who set out in his plane promising to fly west and ended up making a trans-Atlantic crossing. His minor miscalculation brought him national fame. A great item, his bold signature on a White House card, penned during his visit to meet President Franklin Delano Roosevelt just after his historic flight. Very light rusted paperclip impression at top edge, else very good condition. From the estate of Grace Tully, F.D.R.'s Private Secretary.
