Description:

(b. 1946) 45th President of the United States. Trump was by any account one of the most controversial presidents in the country's history, his tenure marked with enormous economic growth but also greatly affected by the wide spread of the Covid-19 virus and resulting unemployment and financial downturn. On January 13, 2021, Trump became the only president to have been twice impeached. An excessively rare, and at this time possibly unique document signed AS PRESIDENT, 1p. 8.5 x 3.5 in., [New York], Jan. 23, 2017...three days after his inauguration and the earliest (and only) document signed as president to come to market! The document is a check drawn on Capital One N.A. Bank, New York, making a $10,000.00 payment to 'SHANE BOUVET'. The check bears Trump's trademark hand-applied signature in black marker at bottom-right, and is endorsed by Bouvet on verso. Very fine condition, in a 'Beckett Grading Services' protective plastic case, their authentication number 0009964075. WITH: the original White House mailing envelope addressed to Bouvet, canceled in Washington, Jan. 27, 2017. Two pieces. Shane Bouvet and Trump had a fascinating relationship. Bouvet had worked with Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 by day while holding down a job as a delivery man by night. He reportedly met with president-elect Trump the night before the inauguration and shared his father’s health and financial struggles. According to Trump: 'His father, Donald, was suffering and really on a pretty final path towards losing his life.' After his January meeting with Trump, Shane Bouvet returned to his hometown of Stonington, Illinois, and received this check in the mail, along with a note from Trump thanking him for his help in the election. Shane gave the entire amount to his father to help pay for his cancer treatments - which proved successful. Trump met both Bouvets later, and followed-up with an additional gift of $5,000. An incredibly rare document, with a poignant, touching history.
