Large and visually striking Chinese political poster, "Determinedly Carry Out 7.3/7.24 Proclamation (Wuhan: Revolutionary Committee Publishing House in Wuhan), 1968, 29" x 21 1/2", a block-printed scene in red and black, depicting two soldiers. one raising a banner reading "Proclamations 7.3 7.24", and the other brandishing a rifle with bayonet, and a farmer with his arm outstretched, in front of a large red banner with a profile portrait of Mao Zedong. The title is printed vertically in Chinese characters to the right of the image. The proclamation of July 3, 1968, was aimed at stopping the theft of military weapons and money from the national treasury by Gunag Xi rebels, while the proclamation of July 24 was aimed at eliminating the Shan Xi rebels. Some chipping at the edges, vertical folds, scattered foxing at the top edge, else very good. From a single collection obtained entirely in China pre-2000.
