We having long, but in vain [sic] expected some aid from the General Government, and as a weak and defenseless frontier, feel ourselves neglected, while the enemy, is threatening & attempting to commit devastation on all who are contiguous to the Sea coast between St. Marys & Savannah. The enemy have already attempted a landing, but repulsed by the exertion & activities of Major Page & they well in all probability hover along our Cost & spread devastation among us if not prevented by some timely assistance...".
