Description:

DEACTIVATED STEN MARK V SUBMACHINE GUN
British Sten Mark V submachine gun, 8" barrel, the final standard model introduced during World War II, adding a wood pistol grip and butt, and a No. 4 Lee-Enfield front sight. The receiver is a modern single-piece replica, containing no moving parts, which cannot be made to fire. The butt and pistol grip, the magazine and magazine well, the trigger group, and the barrel and barrel shroud are all original. The butt, barrel, front sight and magazine well all bear non-matching serial numbers, with the magazine well additionally marked "STEN" with the retailer's mark "AS". The butt is fitted with a brass butt plate, and bears a cartouche featuring a War Department "broad arrow" beneath the initials "SRD". The base of the pistol grip is marked "SIA" with a small arrow symbol. The barrel has been plugged with red plastic at the muzzle, and the rifling appears to have been milled out. The non-receiver components field strip as designed, and the wood furniture shows authentic wear, while the metal fittings appear to have been refinished. A fine display piece overall.
