(JEFFERSON DAVIS) Fine lot consisting of six engraved and printed portraits spanning the course of his life from a young man to his retirement; one early, original photograph of his plantation, Brierfield in Mississippi; one envelope printed with a facsimile of the original bail bond for Davis' release from prison; a letter, 1p, 4to., March 14, 1857, addressed to Davis requesting his autograph; attractive printed "Jefferson Davis Home Association", dedicated to preserving his birthplace, 1p, 4to., with four hand-colored flags of the confederacy; a printed replica, 1p, folio, of the "Bail Bond of Jefferson Davis, Late President of the Confederate States" and a Confederate States of America bearer bond in the amount of $1000, 1p, large folio, March 2, 1863, containing seven of the original eight $40 loan certificates in the lower margin.
