Fine combination of three Union general's endorsements on a single document, 1p. 4to., 'Camp near Falmouth', Nov. 27, 1862. Only the endorsed page is present here, but the generals, two of whom would die during the war, respond to a request for a pass to be issued to an officer to 'proceed to Washington for 48 hours to procure necessary supplies for Officers of Regt.' The request is endorsed by HIRAM G. BERRY (1824-1863) Union general who served at 1st Bull Run, Fair Oaks and the Seven Days, killed while leading a bayonet charge at Chancellorsville. He approves, noting: 'All sutlers are stopped at Washington & the officers are in want of many things...'; DAVID BELL BIRNEY (1825-1864) Union major general who replaced Phil Kearny, he fought at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. In October, 1864 Birney succumbed to malaria, dying at his home. He approves and forwards the request, and GEORGE STONEMAN (1822-1894), Union major general
