(1782 - 1852) American lawyer and statesman who verbally jousted with Calhoun in the Senate and later supported Clay's compromise measures on slavery. A.L.S. "D. Webster", 1p. 8vo., "Dec. 6" [n.y.], to a Mr. Burbank. In part: "...Please call on Mr. Harvey, at 12 o'clock with this note. He will give you a thousand Dollars, which I will thank you to pack up, in bills, safely, & send me by George. The Bills may be 100's, 50's & 5's - Send me also the letters , & all the news...". Marginal chipping and light toning from previous framing, signature slightly feathered, else very good. With an engraving of Webster.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
