Description:

DALLAS TIMES HERALD KENNEDY ASSASSINATION NEWSPAPER
Rare newspaper, the complete final edition of the Nov. 22, 1963 Dallas Times Herald with the front page completely dedicated to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy earlier the same day. The large headline reads: "PRESIDENT DEAD" with smaller headlines reading: "Connally AHit By Sniper...Secret Service Checks in Vain". The front page also bears a photo of the late president greeting overjoyed admirers at Love Field at Dallas. Details at this early point in time are sketchy: the arrest of Oswald is not mentioned, only a brief description of a suspect, mention of five of six wounded bystanders, conflicting reports of the number of shots fired, the direction of the shots, and so on. The scanty reporting continues on page 19 within. The paper is chipped at the left margin and upper right and left corners, and bears a slightly-worn horizontal fold, some toning as one would expect, otherwise very good.
