A group of four original copies of World War II newspapers: the first is the first four pages (only) of a June 6, 1943 edition of ‘The Sunday Star', Washington, with the headline: ‘Invasion Talk Given New Impetus As Churchill Calls War Cabinet After Seeing Marshall in Africa'. Weakened central fold with a tear or two thereon, toned, otherwise good. WITH: the first page (only) of a June 6, 1944 copy of the ‘The Evening Star', with the headline: ‘Allies Advance Several Miles in France Against Slight Opposition; Losses Small'. Several areas of the page removed, presumably by the original owner clipping out articles, toned. WITH: the first page (only) of a June 7, 1944 copy of ‘The Washington Post', with headline: ‘Reinforcements Rushed Across Stormy Channel, Germans Report New Landing at Orne Mouth; Town 15 Miles Northeast of Rome 1st Captured'. A tear and weakened central fold, toned, otherwise good. WITH: the first page (only) of a June 8, 1944 copy of ‘The Washington Post', with headline: ‘First Town in France Captured, 5 Miles Inland Caen Road Cut; German Resistance Stiffens; Allies Smash Toward Port 40 Miles Above Road'. Weakened central fold bears a few tears thereon, else good.

Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
