D-DAY AMERICAN LANDING SECTOR MAPS
Good lot of three war-date, pre-D-Day maps, each depicting areas taken by American landing forces during the invasion of Normandy. Includes: 1:50,000-scale map, 30" x 22", depicting the Normandy town of Isigny and environs, published by the British War Office in 1943. The area shown includes the coastal region between the Point et Raz de la Percee and the village of Saint-Honorine-des-Pertes, which would be code-named Omaha Beach during Operation Overlord. Shows folds, with a small are of paper loss at the bottom edge, with cello tape applied to the corners and top edge, else very good. WITH: 1:50,000-scale map, 21 3/4" x 32", depicting the Normandy town of Saint-Lo and environs, published by the British War Office in 1943. Saint-Lo was a strategic crossroads, and was targeted by American bombardment beginning on the night of June 6, resulting in the deaths of over 1,000 civilians. The city was taken by American forces after a bitter battle lasting most of July. Shows folds, with three burn marks and resultant slight paper loss, else very good. WITH: 1:50,000-scale map, 21" x 32", depicting the Normandy town of La Haye du Puits and environs, published by the British War Office in 1943. This region also includes the village of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, where the 505th P.I.R. or the 82nd Airborne found themselves in dire straits early on the morning of D-Day. Shows folds, else very good. Three pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
