Vroom of Trenton N.J., informing him that the New York Collector of Customs had "...been instructed to admit, free of duty and charges, the three packages, referred to, in your letter...containing personal effect imported by you per the Steamer 'Vanderbilt'...", fine. Together with EDGAR WARFIELD (1842-1934) Confederate officer, one of the founders of the Old Dominion Rifles and served in most of the engagements of the Army of Northern Virginia. A.L.S. 1p. 4to. Alexandria, Va., Oct 20, 1928 to a collector complying with an autograph request. Fine. Also AMOS TAPPAN AKERMAN (1821-1880) Confederate soldier and U.S. Attorney General, 1870-71. A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Cartersville, Ga., Jan. 27, 1874, complying with an autograph request. Fine condition, three pieces.
