Description:

CONCENTRATION CAMP UNIFORM
A chilling relic from the Second World War, a blue and grey striped two-piece concentration camp uniform. The breast pocket bears an inverted triangle, a designation given to political prisoners interned in the camps. The uniform, made of coarse linen, bears expected wear but no telltale discoloration or repairs appear under blacklight, and wear and soiling is appropriate in the expected areas. Stitching, fabric and button quality is also consistent with authentic examples. Stitching has been reinforced and waist button has been reversed to extend the "life" of the pants. Although many copies of such outfits exist, we feel confident this is a fully legitimate example. Originates from the sale last year of the holdings of a noted New York Holocaust museum
