In full: "I would be glad you wou[l]d send me by the Bearer...the bo[a]rds for my Markee [sic] & Working Lines...". He adds in a short postscript "You won't forget the Locks for my Boats...". George Clinton would command the defenders of the fort in October when Sir Henry Clinton mounted an expedition that would capture Fort Montgomery and Fort Clinton.
