Clark" on Citadel letterhead, 1p. 4to., Charleston, S.C., June 20, 1977 to a Mrs. James Wassmuth of Staten Island. In part: "...With regards [to] what I think might have been Harry Truman's greatest moment, was when the Germans unconditionally surrendered in World War II. I know I got my greatest thrill at that time when I accepted the surrender of the German Ground Forces which had fought us so tenaciously during the long, difficult campaign...".
