Description:

CLARENCE DARROW
(1857 - 1938) American lawyer who defended Eugene Debs, Leopold and Loeb, and John T. Scopes in the infamous "Monkey Trial". T.L.S. as on his letterhead, 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Mar. 3, 1929, to Helen M. Bramble, in part: "...I don't know if you need to go out of your way to publish my letter. Do just as you please about it...". Boldly signed, rusted paper clip impression at top left, overall very good.
