Fine lot of three Cabinet Photographs of Civil War Generals (post-war), including: JOHN H. MORGAN, CSA Maj. Gen'l., from a painting issued by Johns, Lexington, Ky., ROBERT E. PATTERSON, Union General, exceptional bust image with a large reunion badge attached to his jacket, issued by F. Gutekunst, Philadelphia, Pa., PHILLIP SHERIDAN, Union General, fine image ca. 1885, issued by Mora, NYC. Also included in this lot are Cabinet photographs of: WHITELAW REID, civil war correspondent who succeeded Horace Greeley as owner and editor of the Tribune, WILLIAM HAYDEN ENGLISH (1822-1897) U.S. Congressman and Senator who received the unanimous nomination of the Democratic National Convention for Vice President on the ticket with General Winfield Scott Hancock. Excellent cabinet photograph ca. 1880, issued by Mora, NYC, possibly his official Washington, DC bust portrait. Very good to fine with minor wear as expected, rounded corners, light toning and scuffing.
