A group of four pieces including NATHANIEL BANKS (1816 - 1894) partly-printed D.S. as Governor of Massachusetts, 1p. folio, Boston, Aug. 31, 1859 an appointment of Augusts H. Soule as justice of the peace for Plymouth County. Usual folds, else fine. Offered together with EDWARD EVERETT A.L.S. 1p. 4to., Cambridge, Aug. 9, 1857 introducing "...Mr. Moses Wright of Boston... a Young Artists (a painter) of much merit & promise. He proposes to pass some time in London, in the practice of his profession... request you to furnish him any aid which may be necessary in obtaining access to the more important private collections..." Moses Wright (1827 - 1895) was a prolific painter and a founder of the Boston Art Club; JOHN A. ANDREW (1818-1867) L.S. as governor, 1p. 4to., Boston, Nov. 25, 1865 to New York governor Reuben E. Fenton concerning the "...pardon brought for by Jeremiah Clifford a Convict in the State Prison of New York..."; ALEXANDER H. BULLOCK partly-printed D.S. as governor, 1p. folio, Boston, Aug. 22, 1867, an appointment of Nehemiah Brown as a justice of the peace for Boston. Also offered together with a carte-de-vistie of Andrew as well as a cabinet card of Bullock. Together, six pieces in very good condition.
