Secretarially signed presentation slip tipped to front flyleaf; "China and the Chinese: a general description of the country and its inhabitants; its civilization and form of government; its religious and social institutions; its intercourse with other nations, and its present condition and prospects., by JOHN L. NEVIUS (New York, Harper & Brothers, 1868), 454 pp. true first edition. Author dedication copy to Mr. R. E. Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
