In small part: "...as regards Canton Lord E found it necessary to carry out my policy…to save himself …I did appoint…to prevent a general war with China, with reference to Peking…I always believed that the Emperor would not...as the Emperor of China has an advantage that Yeu was wrong & has disgraced…" Much more. Couple of minor tears at margin, otherwise very good condition,
